Guardianships:

Marcia K. Werner has facilitated numerous guardianships as an attorney for a plaintiff who is seeking to be appointed guardian for an incapacitated person. She has also served as a court-appointed attorney for the alleged incapacitated person and as a court-appointed guardian of persons declared incapacitated.

Wills and Estates:

Marcia K. Werner assists in simple estate planning, drafting Last Wills and Testaments, Living Wills (Health Care Directives), and Powers of Attorney. She helps clients through the probate and estate administration process.

The Unusual:

Marcia K. Werner enjoys a challenge and welcomes unusual cases that defy classification. She once represented a homeowner in a case filed by a neighbor who claimed that Ms. Werner’s client’s cats were using his yard as a litter box and sought damages. She successfully represented a woman accused of running an impermissible boarding house and argued the definition of family under the municipal ordinance. She also represented the Kiwanis Club of Ridgewood against Kiwanis International when the club was denied the right to admit women.

Marcia K. Werner does not represent clients in criminal matters, personal injury cases, or real estate closings, but is always happy to refer those matters to competent counsel.
